We're still working out way through all the stuff we have up in our loft ready for the insulation company to come and re-insulate at the end of the month. It's been a tough job, physically and emotionally. I had saved/hoarded every bit of artwork the kids did when they were young, every school project and book, brownie uniforms, dance leotards, cubs uniforms, football kits ... you name it, I had put it up there! So I have tried to be ruthless, and kept one project from each school term, one book from each year, one uniform from each out of school activity etc. That still leaves us with a lot of boxes but it is far more manageable. In one box I found a lot of Barbie dolls that my daughter had played with, along with an old original Sindy doll that I had when I was growing up. I've taken a photo of them in a line up. Can you pick out which is the middle aged lady out of the group?!!!
Hmm, I wonder.... Gosh, isn't that interesting?
ReplyDeleteWell done you for braving that huge sorting job, I am SUCH a hoarder that I can't bear to tackle the mountain of memorabilia (my term) or heap of junk (as The Doctor calls it) xx
Love the sindy doll! And good on for tackling the attic.
ReplyDeleteRinda
Of course! I have one too, although mine has blonde hair. Please tell me you aren't throwing her out!!
ReplyDeleteYep....I had one of those Sindy dolls as well....and I'm also a terrible hoarder.....though we did have a massive clear out when we moved.
ReplyDeleteI can remember having an original Sindy doll but my friend had a Tressie who had hair that could grow - how I wanted one of those. I also wanted an action man with 'eagle eyes' - didn't get either :(
ReplyDeleteLol, I couldn't possibly tell which one was Sindy! I had Sindy too, with blonde hair. I had a brilliant Sindy house as well, I loved it - it had three floors and a roof garden. I wonder if it's still in my mum's loft? My daughter would love it now! xxx
ReplyDeleteI can't tell :-( So I don't end up with mountains of stuff I've started files to keep samples of the kids stuff - just their best efforts or firsts or funny things and I'm taking photos of their artwork, our young lady is a prolific artist and we would be drowning under the weight of her creations already!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the reinsulation, I would imagine you will notice the difference, we have and we still have gaping holes in some of our walls ... not to mention a tarped up side of the house!
Now doesn't that say something?!! I was never a Barbie girl...I was a bit of a tomboy really, but I did hanker after a Cindy for a while...never got one though!!!
ReplyDeleteI am such a hoarder with the boys school artwork etc etc (I still bring out Xmas deccies made in Nursery by each of them each year!!) so I really 'get' how mammoth a task that must be!!!
