Mathematically challenged

So have we all recovered from Mel's Mega Blog Hop yesterday?  Wasn't it fun?!  I really enjoyed going through all the blogs and managed to totally ignore my husband's 'You can't still be reading through blogs' comments.
When I signed up to join in it was still an alphabet blog hop and I'd been mentally singing the 'ABC' song in my head {a la Sesame Street} thinking of cute stories for whatever letter she threw at me.  So you can imagine my shock and surprise at being given a NUMBER.  Now anyone that knows me will be aware that I hate maths - and it's not one-sided, maths hates me too so that's fine.  I avoid figure work at all costs so being told I had to do a whole post around a number was enough to send me off to a dark room with a glass of wine and a bag of maltesers to have a lay down to get over the shock.  But, hey ho, ever one to rise to a challenge - I managed to come up with something.  Having done that I was really looking forward to the prospect of a new class from Shimelle starting this morning.
So you can imagine how thrilled I was to see that we were going to be signing up to http://analytics.google.com to work out {gulp} statistics for our blog.  Statistics? Oh my goodness, pass me another malteser.  Anyhow, nothing ventured, nothing gained, I'm all signed up and woohoo, I didn't even come out in a cold sweat.  Now we have to 'leave it alone'.  Leave it alone?  What?  Not even have a little peek?  Not one little check just to make sure it's working?  Hmmmm.  Have I ever mentioned how impatient I am?
OK, let's read the next paragraph.  Surveys?  Polls?  That sounds a bit mathematical to me.  But I've signed up for it and I'm sure I won't be scarred for life.  But take pity on me, dear fellow bloggers, could someone, somewhere please take part in my survey so I haven't gone through this stress and strain for nothing?!
Only joking folks.  Now I tried hard to think of what I could possibly do a survey on and whilst this is in theory a scrapbooking blog, I did once take part in a blog hop that was recipe inspired and that was great fun too.  And I know that I love it when other people post recipes on their blogs as I am constantly on the look out for new meals to try.  So my question is:

  2. lol! I'm happy to act as maths tutor whenever required, Deb xx And you coped admirably with the number 8 - I didn't quite have in mind 'Deb 8 many Maltesers', but hey, it works! ;-)

Oh, and I've voted, but to be honest I'd be interested in any kind of recipe you'd like to share, not just the option I voted for! :-)

  5. My only problem with the recipes is the measurements. Converting things to the way we measure here in the U.S. has been iffy for me. But if it looks yummy enough, I'm game to try!

  6. I'm completely with you on the maths. And on the struggling not to look at my Google Analytics. Actually, do you know what? I might cheat..

  7. I looked at Google Analytics & was sorely disappointed!!! It takes a few days to collect all the data so just be a little more patient everyone!

  8. We are math sisters...I don't like it and it doesn't like me! When Mel talks about her love of math I just don't get it lol I've had the Google Analytics for a long time and it is a breeze. It provides you with data, it does the work you see the results :) I checked sides and salads but would have checked any if it was an option. You're welcome to join my Lighten Up recipe hop any month. Sign up by 10th, recipe to me by 20th, hop is live on the 30th ;)..think I may have you on my reminder list!

  13. Ooh, I only ticked one but would happily look at ANY recipes. Need to go back over your posts and read some as I have fallen behind. Just quickly read the one about the dummy in the managers office though - made me chuckle it did.

  19. I am still away and have as yet not read the first prompt ... should I be scared? ;-)

I answered yes to your survey and requested sweets ... you do them so well and really, I don't think you should be encouraged, but I will! ;-)

Ohhh, I just saw that Sian is willing to cheat the maths related stuff - I'll be in that!

  20. LOL - loved your reaction to getting a number to do. I've got my analytics up but don't know if I can just leave it alone for a few days. Still puzzling over my poll. I answered you poll but I like all kinds of recipes so whataever kind you share is great with me.

  21. Hate math, just managed to pass that one in High School and thank God I didn't need it to become a nurse ;) As for the recipes, well I picked desserts, but I like food period... so whatever you post I'm likely to find appealing!
