Looking at life sideways on

So Shimelle's 4 x 6 Photo love for this month has 7 photos to get on one page.  Hmm challenging.  But she's got a good way round getting so much photo onto so little cardstock, involving fold out pages.  So what's the problem then?  Well it's the fact that they are seven portrait style photos and I'm not a great portrait style photo taker.  My camera feels far more comfortable in the landscape position and I have to make a conscious effort to turn it sideways.  I can probably find seven portrait pictures that I like, it's just that they don't all follow a similar theme!  I don't think random subjects will really work this month.
My husband and I are planning a nice day out in Cambridge tomorrow, and I am hoping to find seven good things to photograph portrait style.
Am I alone in tending to favour landscape over portrait or am I just a lazy photographer?!

Over time, I have moved into portrait mode more and more often.

Like Rinda I now take far more portrait
style than I used to.

My problem is I turn my camera every each way, so that I tend not to have enough to be the right way lol.

I tend to take mostly landscape photos but now take more portrait ones too.

Oooh! I tend to mix it up a bit....& then if I find I need a chosen photo the other way, I'll always crop it to fit the requirement....easier from portrait to landscape than the other way round!!

I tend to be the other way round, lots of portrait & not enough horizontal. Hope you have a lovely day out.

Definitely with you on this one! Almost all my pictures are landscape. But I did try to change this on holiday this year. A bit.

for me it depends on the subject, but I do tend to take photos both ways. But for one topic - unlikely I would have seven good photos in a single orientation either way!

And I haven't looked at the 4x6 layout yet, but could you turn it 90 degrees and use your landscape photos?

I'm like you - most of mine are landscape although there is the odd portrait one thrown in. It sort of depends on the subject.

I try to mix it up, but more often than not mine are landscape!

You're not lazy at all -- you're just used to landscape! I did Week in the Life along with Ali Edwards the end of July and made a point to buy portrait-style photo pages so I'd remember to take portrait-oriented pics! It worked. :)
