What’s a girl to do with a bag full of diamonds? Well, not exactly diamonds but Swarovski crystals. Let me explain – we bought our daughter a lovely Swarovski crystal necklace for her birthday last week. I ordered it online and they said they would be including a ‘thank you gift’. So when it arrived in the post, I found that the little extra gift was a small organza bag filled with coloured crystals.
Now you can well imagine that the sight of all this sparkly gorgeousness was a little overwhelming for a scrapper like me and I immediately imagined adding a little Swarovski ‘bling’ to each and every one of my scrapbook pages, past, present and future.
But if you look carefully, you will see that the crystals have a pointed bottom to them and so won’t sit flat on a page at all.
So my friends – do you have any suggestions as to what I can do with these gorgeous sparkles? I can’t wait to use them in some way but need inspiration!
Why do they need to sit flat on the page? Why not string them on some cotton or something and drape them across the page that way? Or, glue them into 3d flowers - they don't sit flat anyway and a little bling peeking out could only be a good thing! Or you could always make some jewelry out if them.. I just love swarowksi crystals!
ReplyDeleteI would also say to glue them into Flower centres, blob in some pva or clear gloss and scatter a few gems on! X
ReplyDeleteYou could glue them into the middle of flowers or turn them up the other way (if they are the same all over)? I'd glue them on anyway even if the weren't flat.Or maybe cluster a lot together in a heart shape?
ReplyDeleteOh my! Those are beeeeauutiful!! How lovely just to let them run through your fingers...but...how about using them in flower centres? You could group them together in a ring or circle (maybe ito some clear adhesive that won't steal their sparkle!) so they support each other & then sit them in the centre of a nice Prima bloom!! That way their depth would be incorporated into the flower....all those gem colours would look fabulous against a white background too!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteHe he he!! I hadn't read the other comments first! Now I realise we all thought the same thing! Talk about great minds thinking alike!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful! Not sure I can add any other useful suggestions though. I think I might just put them in a little glass dish and watch them sparkle for a while
ReplyDeleteI cannot add to the suggestions already given but they are just beautiful.
ReplyDeletethey really are beautiful. I love all the suggestions. What you could do for a page is to punch a small hole so that the pointed end goes through but the rest of the gem doesn't. Then tape or glue it on the back. Might work? They are beautiful though. xxx
ReplyDeleteI saw this post the other day and wanted to make sure I came back to it to see the suggestions :) I think you have quite a few good ones, but I would probably do what Sian said and look at them for a bit :)
