Zumba!

I am typing up this post with a feeling of uncertainty in my bones.  My friend Lynda has asked me to go to a Zumba class with her tonight and whilst I wasn't keen, she gave me that look - you know the one, 'I really want to go but I don't want to go on my own.  And we didn't have our normal exercise class on Monday as it was Bank Holiday and we've been eating lots of chocolate and we could do with a bit of exercise and it'll be fun and ....'
So I gave in.  At the time it was a week away but now it's tonight.  It's 15 mins time actually and I'm still not in my exercise clothes ..... Can you tell I'm not keen?
I've been busy taking photos today in line with Shimelle's prompt yesterday.  It was a busy old day, what with it being the first day back at school after the Easter break.  Lots of work to catch up on and lots of new jobs to do.  Countdown to GCSE exams is on, first one on May 16th so the exams office is mega busy.   So busy in fact, that I forgot to take pictures on a regular basis but I've got a few in the camera now.   There will, however, be NO pictures in evidence of me at Zumba.  Absolutely not.  I've done Zumba once before and vaguely remembering saying 'I'm too old for this - never again'.
Has anyone else out there tried Zumba?  Or any other dance related exercise class?  I enjoy Salsa and I've even been known to do a class or two of belly dancing (even have a belly dance skirt with the coins on to prove it!)  Hey ho, can't put off the evil moment any longer - need to get dressed and ready to go - wish me luck .....

Zumba is fab, you'll love it! At the class I go to (when I can), we use belly dancing skirts to make a load of noise ~ great fun!

Zumba was fun but I'm not sure I have the coordination for it - I started back to my kickboxing class tonight after quite a break - kicking and punching is a great stress reliever!!!

I loved Zumba when I did it, but after last Fall/Winter with the knees, then the back, my physical therapist has suggested it is no longer a good choice for me. Too much bouncing and twisting.

Our aerobics teacher decided to Zumba one night instead of the usual routine, and it was great fun! It helped being at the back of the room though. Let us know how you got on :)

Never done Zumba and to be honest never do much excersise these days at all! So well done Deb on giving it a go!

No, I have not tried it - but I've got dodgy knees and a bad back so, like Cheri, not the best choice for me either!

Since being away you have changed things over here and it looks mighty FANTASTIC!!!!!! WOW! I love the new look :-)

Oooh. So not a fan of zumba myself b/c I found the choreography impenetrable an it hurt my knees. I stick with step class and running.
But if you do salsa and belly dancing, I bet you'll like it.
