Filing

It is a well known fact that I am an untidy scrapbooker. I like to leave mess and confusion in as many rooms and places as possible when I am in a creative mood. Not for me the isolation of a custom-made craft room - oh no. Not when I can spread myself around. My husband is using this as an excuse for falling behind on the household filing. How do we get so much paperwork that we need to hold onto? The in tray is overflowing and the surface of the desk is covered in ribbons, glue, cutters, inks and photos.

As I have been on school holidays he thought that maybe I could use some of my spare time getting up to date with the filing. 'Can you see to the filing today' he asked nicely. I thought I detected a slight unspoken 'instead of messing about with papers and photos' but I may have been imagining it. So I decided to clear the decks and sort out all the bills, receipts etc ready to go into the appropriate files. They all looked a bit boring and scruffy, and so I decided that they needed tidying up.
I didn't actually get round to putting any papers away, but how pretty do the files look now? I'm not sure this is what he had in mind ...

rofl!! Whenever The Doctor asks me 'nicely' to tidy up a bit ('especially the craft stuff that's taking over the house again') I end up sorting, playing, re-organising, decorating, rediscovering - and not actually putting much away....

Very pretty folders, Deb :-) Tell him they'll inspire you to file things in future - and that every bit of paper etc you used on them is something that effectively got tidied away ;-)

Well, Deb, according to all the organization experts, if you LOVE your filing system, you are more apt to actually use it. Just tell hubs that it is the first step in the right direction!

Too funny. I was feeling quite chuffed the other day when I put over 100 pages of layouts into albums! They had been piling up for almost a year.

Tidying up is very, very hard. Your folders look great, might be a bit of a shame to actually start using them when you think about it..:)

hahahaha!

Thanks for the morning chuckle, Deb. I'm catching up over here - have been trying to stay off the computer in an effort to rest my shoulder from "mousing."

I LOVE the files with those adorable tags. And I'm laughing imagining what my husband would do if he came home and saw our files in this condition. He keeps all of our paperwork in his office which is filled with all of his "man stuff." Come to think of it...he could use a few flowers in there... ;o)
