How many clothes is 'too many clothes' for 5 days away in the UK?

It's a lot easier when you're going on a beach/hotel holiday in a sunny country isn't it? Our weather is so changeable at the moment and last week my packing list was predominately trousers and warm tops with waterproof shoes. Suddenly the forecast is for warm and dry weather ... what's a girl to do?
She overpacks, that what she does. She packs trousers and pretty tops for evening meals out because that's a safe bet. Then she packs crops and t shirts and cardigans for layering on a cool day which may improve as the day goes on. Not to mention a few dresses just in case the sun shows its face. And a long sleeve top to go with the crops because a t shirt may not be warm enough ...
I know that when Paul gets back from his volunteer work over the park he's going to raise his eyebrows and then pass me his clothes for the weekend. One pair of smart trousers for the evening, a couple of nice shirts, he'll travel in a pair of jeans and then pack 4 polo shirts for the days.
Shall we take bets now as to how many of those clothes in the photo don't actually get worn?

Packing for the British weather can indeed be a chore! :) Do let us know which items of clothing don't make it out of your bag.
Smiling in recognition here, as we have the possibility of a few days at the seaside and I'm wondering what to pack! Himself always seems to find it easier than I do, too. Are shorts and a swimsuit worth bothering with? Probably not ... Let us know how your choices work out!
Going by car? Cram in everything you might possibly need just in case. Who cares if you don’t need it/ actually use it.
LOL. Are you not a jeans girl? Jeans can be dressed up, dressed down & travel well. Now of course we pack face masks, which then throws in, will this mask go with this dress? Happy travels.
I think ladies need options, so I always throw in a couple of extra things that I can mix and match. After many, many years of insisting hubby throw in an extra set of clothes, our plans have now changed enough during trips that he has thanked me more than once. Every time we pack, after he has handed me what he wants to pack, I ask him what is the extra outfit he wants to take. We have worn the extras many more times than we have brought them home unworn.
There is no such thing as too many clothes!! Packing for the UK can be a chore so I hope you have enough to see you through. Enjoy your weekend.
