Festival on Facebook

My daughter posted some new photos on Facebook yesterday.  My second thought was "They're nice photos" but my first thought was "Oh good, I've got some new photos to work with".
Sketch 23 of my 28 days of sketches - done!
My daughter's had a rough few months and is only gradually starting to get back to her normal self.  Her relationship broke up so she is living back home with us (which is why Coco is a permanent fixture now!) and it's been tough adjusting to things.  Hard to discover that the person you thought you would be spending the rest of your life with turns out not to be the person you thought he was.  But if there is a silver lining to be found, a couple of her close friends have found themselves in exactly the same boat this summer and there is comfort in knowing you are not alone.  Her friends have been amazing.  They have really rallied round and supported her in ways that parents can't.  They have made sure that there are things to do and places to go and she has not sat at home moping at weekends.  She's been to three music festivals, two of which were ankle deep in mud and the third glorious hot sunshine.  This layout celebrates just how important your close girlfriends are in your life.

And then you get to a certain age....and festivals in the mud just seem to lose their appeal!!

You've mentioned a few times that you've been worried about her lately…and I've been wondering what was up. Man, heartbreak is a stinker. That's for sure. But, music festivals in knee-deep mud sounds GREAT! Good for her! Fun is so healing. and friends too. :)

Sounds like she's in good hands between you, Coco and the music loving girlfriends. :)

Such a shame indeed, but good to hear she has a strong network of girlfriends to get her through the tough times...& you too of course! A really great LO with an important story to tell! :D

Oh, I am so sorry, Deb, I know how we hurt when they hurt. She is so blessed to have family and friends nearby. My nephew is going through a very difficult time and as they had recently moved to another state from their home of 3 years he doesn't have that support in person.

I love this layout, and the sentiments you've shared in your post here, Deb. I can speak from experience on how amazing it is to have friends rally around you in times of need. My blog friends have been so awesome during this difficult time with my mom - I'd be a mess without you girls! I'm so glad to hear that your girl is being supported by her friends. I'm sure she'd do the same for them if the tables were turned.

Sorry she's had such a rough time, but with your lovely support and htat of her friends, it looks as if she is finding a way through. :) Your page is so perky, with the design tipped on the diagonal like that!
