Hello friends, it’s been a while hasn’t it?
The heatwave I spoke about in my last post continued right up until a couple of days ago and today we finally have some much needed rain. The heat has been unbearable and I am so fed up with wearing the same things day after day simply because they are cool to wear! I had to use the windscreen wipers this morning for the first time in weeks, I never thought I'd be so pleased to see rain.
Since I last posted we have been on holiday to Portugal. My sister has a holiday home there and she kindly let us use it for a week in the middle of July. It was lovely to go back there, it's such a laid back place to spend time and it really is a home from home. We went with our daughter and grandchildren and they had a lovely time, collecting sea glass in the rock pools, making sandcastles on the beach, swimming in the pool and just having holiday fun. Today our son is travelling out there to spend a week and then when he returns, it will finally be my sister's turn to go. They would normally spend quite a few weeks each year out there but she hasn't been able to travel since her accident earlier this year. She had shattered her thigh bone in a fall and is only just feeling confident enough to fly out there.
Then, following our return, a young 'man' named Bertie joined our family.
He is a Cavapoo but we think he will be smaller than our darling Coco was. He is our daughter's dog but as they are living with us while waiting to find their new home he's taken over our house! He's very cute but I think he may have a little bit of shark in his gene pool as boy can he bite when he's over excited.
Hopefully I will be here a little more frequently; I have missed browsing the blogs which used to be part of my daily routine.
Time for me to go and find out what everyone else has been up to while I've been gone!
