A sentence a day in November

Gosh November, you seem to have arrived so quickly this year!

Day 1 Paul accompanied Leo on an evening bat walk with Beavers, but it absolutely poured with rain - all bats stayed safely dry in the trees!

Day 2 Had Olive here for the day, Paul was doing his volunteer work over the local park so we had a girly day

Day 3 Zumba in the morning and a friend popped round in the afternoon

Day 4 Went to Cambridge, lunch at Aromi, their open topped focaccia slices are deliziosa!

Day 5 Max and Olive here for a sleepover - they were so well behaved, but I got little sleep and felt worse for wear so ...

Day 6 Felt very tired after a disturbed night's sleep, not because either of them kept waking up, but because I was sleeping with Olive who is quite a wriggler in her sleep!

Day 7 Went to Bury St Edmunds with two other couples to visit and have lunch with friends who moved there three years ago.

Day 8 On the one day I decide to walk into town, there was a sudden downpour and I got drenched!

Day 9 Olive had her 1 year vaccinations today so no childcare today - instead I went through the toys we keep here to pass on those that aren't being played with any more to a friend who is about to look after her granddaughter 2 days a week.

Day 10 Zumba was fun and in the afternoon I spent time working on my blanket - which is very nearly finished

Look at her guilty little face, I'd only put it down for a few minutes and she was on it in a flash!

Day 11 Paul went up to London so I had a day to myself - altered the dress I have bought to wear for Christmas meals out.  Remembrance Day.

Day 12 Decided that our bathroom is in need of some TLC.  Cue searching for wallpapers, enquiries about replacement shower panel seals and new bath panels.

Day 13 Rachel and family came for Sunday lunch - lovely to catch up on their news as although we see them a couple of times a week it's usually just a quick chat while handing over children.

Day 14 Tumble drier broke, the drum has fallen off the motor and the damage to the back plate looks beyond repair; as we have had it almost 15 years we decided it was time to replace and spent a lot of the day researching and comparing prices and the rest of the day wrapping birthday and Christmas presents.

Day 15 Popped into town, continued to work on a half finished blanket that I was working on using up leftover wool - took a while to work out which row I was working on!

Day 16 Had Olive here for the day, she is now confidently standing up and not so keen on sitting still for a minute - this is quite a dangerous age!

Day 17 Rain, rain, rain.

Day 18 New tumble dryer delivered, cue mega laundry catch up!

Day 19 Sleepover for Leo and Rosie - they were so excited.  Once again, four people went to bed but only three had a good nights sleep

Day 20 Rosie's party was such good fun, bouncy castle, ball pit, soft play and a visit from two Disney princesses, what more could a birthday girl want?

Day 21 Rosie's birthday - those four years have flown by

Day 22 Went into Saffron Walden to meet Jon, Max and Olive for coffee while Sophie had important working from home to do

Day 23 Meal out with my ex-work colleagues in the evening - such fun to meet up and share all the gossip!

Day 24 Zumba in the morning

Day 25 Visited friends in the afternoon for a cup of tea and slice of cake

Day 26 Coco went to vets and now has a big shaved area on the top of her head, had friends over for drinks in the evening and learnt a new card game Five Crowns

Day 27 Had a quiet Sunday, wrapped some Christmas presents, popped into the school Christmas fair in the afternoon and won a bottle of prosecco in the tombola and a necklace in the raffle.

Day 28 Went to Chelmsford to get a couple of Christmas gifts, was busy enough to be festive but not too busy to cause queues in the shops

Day 29 Had my hair cut and after a pampering morning, down to earth with stripping the old wallpaper from the bathroom in the afternoon! England through to the last 16 teams in the World Cup

Day 30 Olive here for the day, wondering when she will finally be brave enough to take her first steps!

Well that month was over and done with very quickly - let's condense it all down to 1 Second Everyday!

Sentence a Day - January

Well hello 2019, how nice to see you.  It's taking a while to get used to the fact that we're no longer in 2018 but I'm sure that by the end of the month we'll be used to it.  So with a rather sleepy start due to a late night/early morning celebrating New Years Eve, let's get started shall we?

Just the word 'January' transports me back to 1975, I was 17, in the 6th form at school and enjoying all those carefree teenage days of the mid 70s.  This song by Pilot was in the charts and now I've found it on youtube I know I'm going to be singing it all afternoon.

So let's fast forward 44 years now (how many? 😱) and see what January 2019 held.

Day 1 Feeling a little tired due to staying up late last night and seeing in the new year with friends - have enjoyed spending the day watching an episode from my Christmas present box set of Greys Anatomy season 14 and doing a bit more of my puzzle - am starting the new year off in a very lazy way!

Day 2 Watched an episode of 'Tidying Up with Marie Kondo' which made us feel guilty about the state of the garage so we ended up in Homebase buying a shelving unit, which has now been filled up and the garage is looking suspiciously tidy!

Day 3 Finished the jigsaw I was given at Christmas - amazing how much I got done when Leo wasn't around!

Day 4 More tidying of boxes of things in the loft - this time going through the old Christmas decorations that used to be my mum's - next year the ones that I've kept will definitely be going on the tree.

Day 5 Time for the Christmas tree and decorations to come down, doesn't the house look bare when you take all the glitter and sparkles away?

Day 6 Leo discovered a box of bits and bobs left over from when I did scrapbooking, he was in his element playing with the cutters and stickers.

Day 7 Took Leo for his first day of proper pre-school on his own; he didn't even look back to say goodbye and I had very watery eyes on my way back to the car park.

Day 8 Stayed overnight at my daughter's house as her husband had to go to Manchester for work - I think Leo was more than a little surprised to see me when he woke up!

Day 9 Can you hear the silence?  Isn't it lovely? Home alone and time to start work on my next sewing project

Day 10 Zumba class - really enjoyed it and am starting to feel like I can relax and put more into each exercise now I've been going for a while.

Day 11 Had lunch out in town at Eat17 which is several street food restaurants all under one roof, decided to go for the pizza - good choice!

Day 12 Actually got to spend some more time sewing my new quilt.

Day 13 Family lunch here - ranging from Great Grandma to baby Rosie.

Day 14 Booked a week away to my sister's house in Portugal - not just the two of us though, we're going with Rachel and her family so I'm guessing Nanny and Grandad will be kept busy!

Day 15 Coco's usual dog groomer has not been working since the end of the summer after a cancer diagnosis but she has the all clear after her treatment and is back making our little fur baby looking lovely again.

Day 16 Tried a new fitness class - Barre Fitness - was pretty intense but fun and then I undid all the good work I did during the day by going out for a Thai meal in the evening with friends!

Day 17 Aching legs today (must have been doing something right in the Barre class yesterday) but that didn't stop me from going to my usual Zumba class this morning.

Day 18 Started to prepare the walls in the downstairs loo so that Paul can start painting.

Day 19 Managed to bag a bargain in the Phase Eight sale, a lovely cotton top -was £40, down to £16

Day 20 Afternoon tea to say 'good luck in your new job' to someone I used to work with at the school.

Day 21 Just another ordinary Monday, catching up on chores and doing a bit of sewing.

Day 22 Hair cut and colour, isn't it amazing how much of a boost it is to have a good haircut?

Day 23 A busy day sewing and happy to be able to say that the front of the quilt is all in one piece

Day 24 Mother in Law's 92nd birthday - I think her secret is a glass of sherry before lunch every day!

Day 25 Met up with a couple of old school friends in the evening for a meal out and a chance to put the world to rights over a glass or two of wine.

Day 26 A day of catching up on chores, a relaxed meal in the evening followed by another episode of The Sinner (I know I'm late to the party, is anyone else watching it on Netflix?)

Day 27 Family Sunday which also included my son who brought with him the good news that he has been offered a new job!

Day 28 Cannot put it off any longer, time to go for the blood test my doctor recommended last week.

Day 29 Popped over to Saffron Walden to buy a couple of presents for people who have February birthdays.

Day 30 Back to Barre Fitness for the 3rd time, it didn't hurt so much this week - am I getting better or was I doing it wrong?

Day 31 Zumba! Also did my 'big' shop today in case the forecasted snow arrives overnight tonight, this way I can hibernate tomorrow!

A Sentence a Day for September

Ah, September.   At the beginning of the month you found me in sunny Southwold - oh how I love that town.  But let's not jump ahead.  What does September mean to me? Well ...

Not only is it one of my favourite Earth Wind and Fire Songs ...

... but the month in which I got married in 1980.  Before you do the maths, yes looking back on it, I was very young!  But back then, we were just the average age, how times change eh?

So, what did September 2018 hold in store for me?

✯✯✯

Day 1 Bags out, clothes sorted, all packed and ready to go for our long weekend in Suffolk

Day 2 Drove to Orford, for our first Airbnb adventure - the accommodation was absolutely lovely, stopped off on the way at Waldringfield for a delicious Sunday lunch at the local pub.

Day 3 Visited Southwold in the morning, coffee and cake on the pier then travelled down the coast a little to Aldeburgh for the compulsory fish and chips out of a bag sitting by the sea wall.

Day 4 A leisurely journey back home stopping at Woodbridge on the way - all in all, our first weekend away with Coco was a great success, now where should we go next?

Day 5 The lady who owned the studio in which we stayed had left delicious homemade cake for us and inspired by this I checked out her blog when I got home and found a recipe for lemon and poppyseed cake - next thing you know - tah dah!!!

Day 6 Our 38th wedding anniversary - wow that sounds a long time ago, who am I kidding is WAS a long time ago!

Day 7 After a day of doing a few diy jobs over at our daughter's house {helping prepare for Leo moving into his big boy bedroom} we had friends over in the evening which was the perfect excuse to crack open my 'souvenir' from our weekend away.

Absolutely delicious served with ice, lime, fresh raspberries and a sprig of mint

Day 8 A day of tidying up the study which had become a bit neglected (my husband cannot be trusted to keep on top of filing paperwork, that in tray was overflowing - not any more!)

Day 9 A traditional roast lamb for dinner followed by apple pie kind of day; added to two dog walks and a lot of knitting.

Day 10 Over-enthusiasm resulted in a secateur related accident in the garden which curtailed my front garden pruning ... for today - in the words of Arnie "I'll be back"

Day 11 A meal out with friends I used to work with about 8 years ago, how time flies when you have lots of news to catch up on {healthy eating intentions went out the window when I found myself ordering the cinnamon dusted mini doughnuts with warm chocolate and salted caramel dipping sauces 🍩}

Day 12 The follow up optician appointment shows that the patch of 'dry eye' that I had has gone - that warm eye pad must have worked a treat.

Day 13 The gardener has arrived to dig up our front lawn to replace it with new turf - we had a very excited young grandson come to inspect the digger.

Day 14 Front garden all re-turfed and looking tidy again - now let's try and keep it that way!

Day 15 Went out for a Tapas lunch - so delicious

Day 16 Family here for Sunday lunch, love having everyone here for dinner even if it does mean a lot of cooking.

Day 17 Decorating at my daughter's house - even though I was working on my own I managed to get the whole nursery done.

Day 18 Despite having had a full body work out yesterday I still managed to get to my Zumba class and survived the whole hour.

Day 19 A productive day sorting and tidying around the house, not the most exciting way to spend a day but it felt good to have those jobs we've been putting off all done and dusted.

Day 20 Our day for having our grandson - he loves collecting conkers when we go out for a dog walk so if the 'old wives tale' that they deter spiders is true, we will be a spider free zone for the rest of the winter!

Day 21 Fitted wooden blinds to our bedroom window - it's a bay window and it's 2 metres wide so definitely a two 'man' job - followed by a fab meal out to celebrate a friend's birthday.

Day 22 Our daughter has been diagnosed with Cholestasis caused by the pregnancy and will need 3 hospital visits a week from now on to monitor the baby and have extra blood tests; a hospital visit this morning confirmed that the baby will be delivered early at 37 weeks so our new grand baby will be here sooner than we expected.

Day 23 Four generations round the dinner table today with ages ranging from 91 👵 to 2 👶

Day 24 A sunny day trip to Cambridge today; it's my favourite place, I love the history and atmosphere of the town.

Day 25 Woke up with a very bruised ankle after stubbing my toe on the stair gate yesterday (not sure how a toe injury can show damage on your ankle!) but still managed to do an hour of Zumba class.

Day 26 Went 'scrumping' for apples and blackberries on our dog walk today

Day 27 Our day for having Leo here - his favourite game at the moment is either 'chase' - where he wants you to run around after him - and hide and seek, where he sits under a quilt in the lounge and waits for you to realise where he is!

Day 28 We had Leo here again in the afternoon while his mummy went to the hospital for blood tests and monitoring so we decided to go and feed the ducks

(The heron didn't stay too long - an over excited dog and a small boy shouting 'feed duckies' seemed to scare him off)

Day 29 Got cracking on a blanket for the new baby - plush fabric is so soft and lovely to work on

Day 30 Popped over to our son's house in the evening - turns out they have just signed up for gym membership so he's trying to convince my husband that he needs to join him on the squash courts once a week!

Thanks to Leslie for introducing me to this fun monthly project!  Why not join in as well next month?

A sentence a day in August

August?  How on earth have we reached the end of August?  I must be getting old because the time is just flying by.  What a good job Leslie organised us into writing a sentence a day to remind us of what the month held.

Day 1 Our son returned from France - sounds like they had a fabulous time and a week wasn't long enough.

Day 2 Took Coco to a new dog groomers as the lady who usually cuts her fur is unwell at the moment, it was just as nerve wracking as trying out a new hairdressers for myself.

Day 3 My dad died back in 1989, but today marks the 100th anniversary of the day he was born - that sounds so strange.

Day 4 My cousin is completely renovating her house (and I mean completely!) and we went to visit to see what's been happening.

Day 5 Went to see a guitar duo at a local venue - they are so talented.

Day 6 Quiet day, visited our son and daughter in law.

Day 7 Back to Zumba after a month's break - ouch!

Day 8 Husband back at dentist for the final part of his treatment - hope this is the end of the problem.

Day 9 It rained - normally in England this would not be newsworthy but this summer has been anything other than normal!

Day 10 Spent most of the day decorating over at our daughter's house, Leo needs to have a nice new bedroom to move into so that the nursery is ready for the new baby in December.

Day 11 Our son is decorating, we've been helping with decorating over at our daughter's and so it only seems right to start freshening up our own house.

Day 12 Temperature has dropped, normal Sunday lunch of Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding will resume.

Day 13 Went on a 'play date' with Leo to visit my friend who also had her grandson visiting for the day - this seems very strange!

Day 14 A routine check up at the opticians ended up not with a new prescription but with a diagnosis of dry eyes

Day 15 Limped round to a neighbour who is a sports therapist for an appointment to see if she can help with the tendonitis in my achilles - after an hour of deep massage I now feel as if I've run a marathon.  (Please do not accidentally read that as 'I now feel as if I could run a marathon!)

Day 16 Our 'Leo' day and it was pouring with rain so we were confined to home, but we sent 'Grandad' up into the loft and he found our son's old multi storey carpark and bucket of cars - that kept us busy for the rest of the day.

Day 17 We have a poorly pup and so tomorrow she will be off to her least favourite place - the vet.

Day 18 Let's not mention the indignity of Coco having her temperature taken at the vets 😱, let's concentrate on a nice get together with friends in the evening sharing an Indian takeaway!

Day 19 A year ago today our son and daughter in law had their official wedding ceremony at Clissold House in London

Day 20 We have bought our grandson a play kitchen for his birthday, I decided to build it early just in case there was a piece missing when we unpacked it - all those Ikea units I've built over the years were good practice.

Day 21 A very overdue visit to the hairdressers for a cut and colour

Day 22 Popped over to visit my mother in law

Day 23 We did an early birthday dinner for our daughter and let Leo choose the balloon for the table

Day 24 My daughter's 32nd birthday - of course I had to carry on the tradition of making her a cake!

Day 25 Temperatures have dropped, by 11am I had changed from a skirt and t shirt to chinos with a long sleeved top and I even had to rethink what I would wear in the evening when we went out for dinner with friends

Day 26 A year ago today we were celebrating our son and daughter in law's wedding on a gloriously hot summer day in a marquee in a field serenaded by a mariachi band - this year they celebrated their anniversary and housewarming with a family party in their new home.

Day 27 It's another two days away but as it was a bank holiday here, Leo's had an early birthday party - how can he possibly be almost two already?

Day 28 'Bills' restaurant in town is offering a bottle of wine up to the value of £20 free if you order two main meals so naturally we had to take advantage.

Day 29 Leo's birthday

Day 30 Festivities over, we are now preparing ourselves for looking after a young man in the 'Terrible Twos' stage one day a week (should probably start taking some multi-vitamins to get my strength up!)

Day 31 I returned to work (for one day) to help out by doing some data inputting, it was lovely to go back and catch up on everyone's news but I honestly can't say I miss the work.

So that's it - farewell to August.  Temperatures are dropping, it's getting darker earlier in the evenings and there's dew on the grass in the mornings - Autumn is definitely just around the corner.

A sentence a day for July

Another month bites the dust!  Joining in again with Leslie's idea to sum up every day of the month in one sentence.  Sounds simple eh?  Not always the case!

😎😎😎😎😎

Day 1: Another hot sunny day, these continuous blue sky days are taking us Brits by surprise - we do not cope well in heatwaves!

Day 2: Moving day for our son - which naturally involved all the family helping out, went to bed tired and needing a holiday.

Day 3: Emergency dentist appointment for my husband, they have done some work on the tooth but if it doesn't improve it will probably mean root canal work (spoiler alert - it only improved for a few days)

Day 4: Alarm set for 4.30 am ready for our flight to Verona

Day 5: Well hello Desenzano del Garda, you are looking particularly beautiful today, climbed to the top of the castle, certainly meeting any step targets today

Day 6: Got the boat to Sirmione in the afternoon, but after we had been there about an hour the skies darkened and rain threatened so we got an earlier ferry back where we found Desenzano was still enjoying the sunshine

Day 7: A day spent reading, eating, drinking, swimming and doing very little else

Day 8: Boat trip to Sirmione in glorious sunshine, another climb to the top of a different castle but worth the aching legs for the views

Day 9: Husband woke up with toothache, he must be feeling poorly as he's refused my offer of going to get a cone of ice cream

Day 10: A day very similar to day 7!

Day 11: Arrivederci Italy in the morning, friends over to watch the football in the evening so it was also arrivederci to the World Cup 😓

Day 12: Back in the old routine - looking after Leo all day - unpacking the suitcases may have to wait until tomorrow

Day 13: Husband off to dentist for root canal work - he may have had one gelato too many while we were away

Day 14: Our daughter's first wedding anniversary - boy has that year flown by.

Day 15: St Swithin's day today, legend has it that whatever weather we have today will last for the next 40 days - looks like this heatwave is due to continue!

Day 16: It's very exciting to be packing up your holiday clothes into a suitcase, but not quite so exciting to be washing and ironing them after you're back home.

Day 17: Spent the day catching up on chores - thank goodness that's out of the way!

Day 18: My little mini went in for its first service - the garage send you a video of your car up on the ramp to show you all the things they checked, that's definitely something new I've never seen before.

Day 19: Returned to school to celebrate the retirement of one of my work colleagues, seemed strange to be back, but very nice to have people tell me that they miss me!

Day 20: As a thank you for helping on their moving day we were invited over to our son and daughter in law's new house for dinner - they both love cooking so we were well and truly spoiled.

Day 21: Marks and Spencer have a special meal deal on at the moment so it's a lazy night tonight and a tasty Indian meal for dinner.

Day 22: Lazy sunny Sunday - this heatwave is starting to take its toll on my energy levels.

Day 23:Helped my daughter take her son to the hospital for a check up - she wasn't sure why he'd been sent the appointment and neither did the consultant who commented that 'he's full of beans and is bright as a button - why are you here?'

Day 24: Our son and daughter had stayed here overnight as they had an early flight to catch this morning from the airport near to us - good old Dad's taxi service is free and reliable when you need to leave home at 4am

Day 25: Coffee with the lady I used to work with in the Exams Office at school - haven't seen her for ages so the time flew by with catching up on all the gossip

Day 26: Dentist day for my husband to have the final bit of work done on his tooth

Day 27: Out for a pub lunch with friends, fantastic food but I think that there was more garlic in my lamb kofta than I realised - at least I'll be safe from vampires tonight 🦇

Day 28: Is this fair?  My son and his wife are in the South of France for a week, and we are in the garden of their new home cutting down overgrown shrubs - although to be honest, we did offer to do it!

Day 29: Rain - oh my goodness, I've never been happier to see rain and temperatures in the low 20s - we have needed this, us Brits are melting in this heatwave.

Day 30: Returned to tidy up our son's garden - ten bags of garden cuttings waiting for his return!

Day 31: There was an activity day over the park and Leo particularly enjoyed trying out the police quad bike for size - thankfully they hadn't left the keys in the ignition!

So with the heatwave returning, it's time to start the monthly notes for August - are you joining in this month?  Please do!

A sentence a day for March

It was a big month over here this month.  There was a BIG birthday.  In fact half way through the month I tipped over from one decade to the next!  But let's not dwell on  that, let's get cracking with the fab idea over on Leslie's blog to make a note of a sentence a day. (I think I'm early for the link up!)

✳✳✳✳✳

Day 1: No matter how cold it is, how icy the paths are or how low the temperatures are, Coco the wonder-dog likes to check that everything is ok in the park behind where we live.

Day 2: Had a meeting with my line manager to discuss the date that I will be leaving - it's all getting real now!

Day 3: We have the family coming over tomorrow to celebrate our son's 28th birthday so I was busy baking cakes - the traditional 'Cadbury finger biscuits round the outside with your favourite sweets on top' that everyone has to have, and a special egg and dairy free one so our grandson can join in the celebrations (not sure he will eat a whole cake to himself though!)

Day 4:  We went on a long dog walk before all the family arrived for Jon's birthday celebrations - either the ducks have learnt to walk on water, or the lake is still very frozen.

Day 5: Twenty eight years ago, we dropped my daughter at my mum's and my husband drove me to the hospital where I was booked in for a planned C Section for the birth of our second child; Jonathan arrived that afternoon and there hasn't been a dull moment since!  (How can my youngest possibly be 28?!!!)

Day 6: At work today I was working on the school's Award Evening which will take place after I leave - it seems so weird (and a little sad) to start a big project knowing that I won't be in the office to see it through to fruition.

Day 7: It's my day for having Leo all day so we headed off to a playgroup to while away an hour or so this morning - with the nice added benefit of wearing him out to help with a well needed after lunch nap - however when we got back home I discovered that he had craftily sneaked a toy out with him and hidden it in his pocket, are we helping to raise a kleptomaniac?

Day 8: A full on day at work followed by an hour of Fitsteps meant it was early to bed and a sound night's sleep.

Day 9: Finding it hard to travel light for my Mother's Day/Birthday treat of a spa break on Sunday with my daughter, it's only an overnight stay and we'll be spending most of our time wrapped in a fluffy bathrobe so why is my list of things to pack getting so long?

Day 10: We are looking after a neighbour's cat while they are on holiday this week which makes me nervous as the cat is about 17 I think and not looking as well as she did last time we had care of her; looking after other people's pets is quite stressful.

Day 11:  Trip to Lifehouse Spa with Rachel where I had my first hot stone massage - I don't think I've ever felt so relaxed.

Day 12:  After a blissful night's sleep, I was treated to a luxury manicure before I was reluctantly taken home.

Day 13: My last day of being in my 50s - I am surely too young to be this old!

Day 14: The balloon says it all ...

Day 15: A poorly Leo came to visit in the afternoon, he's caught a virus and he'd been miserable all day - his mum thought a trip to Nanny's might cheer him up, I think it worked!

Day 16: My friend Sally, who has recently joined the Grandmother club (Glam-mothers?) visited with her daughter and her baby in the afternoon and we introduced her to Leo who is clearly destined to be perfect husband material.

Day 17: My son and daughter in law came for the weekend and combined their trip with some house viewings in Saffron Walden which is about half an hour away - am trying hard to contain my excitement at the prospect of them moving out of London and back to a more local place.

Day 18: We took 17 members of family out for lunch to celebrate us both having our 60th birthdays - Rachel had made a fabulous cake {good job I took a photo of it before everyone came back to ours after the meal as it didn't last long once we finished singing 'happy birthday'}

Day 19: In an effort to revamp my wardrobe I've bought some chunky soled trainers - I was wondering if they suited me when my daughter arrived and her first reaction was 'Mum, I love those shoes' so it looks like they're keepers.

Day 20: I handed in my notice at work!  👏

Day 21: My day for looking after Leo - he certainly knows how to keep me on my toes.

Day 22: Fitsteps class in the evening but the air-conditioning wasn't working in the hall we use, I think it's true to say we all left a lot hotter and sweatier than when we arrived.

Day 23: Invited to a neighbours for tea and a chat in the afternoon, they went to Bologna last year so she's given us plenty of ideas for things to do when we are there in a couple of weeks time.

Day 24: Jumped on scales and quickly jumped off again - time to get back to Slimming World frame of mind - all those celebration meals out, chocolates and cake have taken their toll!

Day 25: We put our clocks forward an hour as the start of British summertime but I think someone needs to tell the weather that it needs to leave Winter behind - although it wasn't snowing/hailing/raining like it was last Sunday, it certainly wasn't very summery out there on our Sunday morning dog walk.

Day 26: A change of routine this week as my grandson's childminder is on holiday, I decided he may be old enough to 'help' with some cooking - cheese scones - luckily we have a dog who is willing to clean up any ingredients that fall on the floor 🐶

Day 27: After only 4 days of eating in a Slimming World friendly way I am already having withdrawal symptoms for biscuits - I hadn't realised how often I dip into the biscuit tin while waiting for the kettle to boil for a cup of tea!

Day 28: Babysitting day again and it was absolutely pouring down with rain so all those lovely dog walks in the fresh air that we normally have didn't happen, instead we did some baking.

Day 29: School breaks up for the Easter holidays today so we closed early at 1.30pm; staff are just as happy as the students are - 2 weeks off work!

Day 30: Woken early today as our son and wife were staying over before they left for a weekend at her Grandparents house in France for the weekend; they had an early Eurotunnel booking and left here at 4am! (Why does a front door opening and closing sound so loud in the early hours?)

Day 31: I'm congratulating myself on keeping up with this post - the secret really is to not let yourself get behind.

March certainly was eventful, I wonder what April has in store?
