The last WBOYC of 2024 - this year has gone by in a flash and whereas I was super busy in November, December was more relaxed. So let's see what's been happening -
Decorating the tree
Traditionally done on the weekend closest to Paul's birthday and a sign that the countdown to Christmas has begun.
Eating out with friends. Would you believe it - once again the waiter brought out a 'happy birthday' dessert for me, this was at a different restaurant to the last one and this time he believed me that it was not for me and it was quickly diverted to the table next to us!
Craft afternoon at school was fun. My daughter and son in law were both in London that day so I was nominated as the family member to get involved with making decorations with Leo and Rosie. We made a snowy owl out of a pine cone and cotton wool with Rosie (I was covered in bits of cotton wool stuck to my fingers by the end of it) Then onto Leo's class where we made a picture to be added to a calendar. It was a tree divided into quarters and we had to paint a different season in each quarter. Messy, but fun!
Enjoying the excitement of the grandchildren when Santa went past our house on his sleigh
He started his tour of our part of town at 4.30 and Leo tracked him on the Santa app for two hours before he went past the house. Oh if only we could bottle that excitement! I think ours was probably the noisiest house.
Masquerade masks for our Zumba party
We had a fun time and there were some very elaborate masks being worn. There is a different theme each year and this was a good one.
Batten down the hatches! A couple of storms blew through this area. Luckily no storm damage here but other places were not so fortunate.
Exhibition of Paul's artwork at a local venue
This was the first time he had actually entered some pictures into an exhibition and he received some nice feedback about his entries.
Relishing the thought of someone else cooking Christmas dinner
It was a fabulous day, we are so very lucky to have such a close, loving family.
So let’s see the month progress, 1 Second Every day. Then pop over to my namesake over in Australia via this link!

Hi Deb, it sounds like a lovely month for you and I'm always happy to see what you're up to over on the other side of the world. What is Paul's art medium? Thanks for joining in and hoope you continue in 2025. All the best to you and your family.
It sounds like a lovely December. Happy Christmas and thanks for linking up with us each month.
Hi Deb thanks for sharing your beautiful Christmas and December with us at #WBOYC? We appreciate your support each month and I wish you every happiness for you and your family in 2025 x
Are those pjs you and Rachel are styling? Adorable!! And you look very festive in both your mask for Zumba and the Santa hat and graphic tee. Just love the photo of the grands silhouetted (I spelled that right - unbelievable) by the light of Santa's sleigh. That would be a darling Christmas card. How fun that Leo tracked Saint Nick until he was rounding your house.
Glad you were able to do crafts at school with the kids. I have really missed my grandgirls this holiday. They all had something - Lauren had Covid - and the girls had something or other. Then we went out of town and PC got Influenza A. We just can't seem to stay well long enough to be together. I miss them!!
Your crocheted throw is just GORGEOUS!! What colors!! I really want to learn to crochet. So proud of all you have made. Rachel's cardigan was so pretty.
How did you manage to get someone else to cook the Christmas dinner? I have cooked every year since the beginning of time. I need a course on delegating!!
Wishing you and your beautiful family the very best in the coming year. Good health and much happiness. P.S. Bravo to Paul for his art showing. He is quite the Renaissance man!!
