If, when tidying out the utility room, you come across a box of kitchen items that you haven't looked for or realised were missing since you had a new kitchen installed 4 years ago, can you justify saying to your husband that they are important things and you really can't throw them away?
Asking for a friend 🙊

If you haven't used or needed them in 4 years and didn't need to replace them while they were "missing" then probably not. Unless you are super excited that you found that one thing and you already have plans to use it in the next week. Then maybe. The only proof is in the actual use...
Not at my house you can't!! Anxious to hear about your lab work. And your adventure meeting up with a STRANGER from the Internet. I dated a STRANGER from the Internet. Try explaining that to two teenage daughters. Not good!!
Ha Ha - I say there's nothing needed to defend your right to want those things again - maybe after a day or two of being justified, you might want to re-release into the world. I've been there & done that!
This reminds me of an acquaintance I once new. I remember a conversation we had about her having a box in her hall closet that she had never opened since she had moved in 3 years prior. She decided to just get rid of it and not even open it. I couldn't do that. Obviously it didn't contain anything she "needed", but it could have contained something of sentimental value---like photo albums. I would have had to at least looked inside.
Nope ... in your best Marie Kondo voice, you thank them (!) and donate them ...
