17th Day of Gratitude

Today's prompt is Evening

Now that the nights are turning chillier, and it's getting darker earlier every day, this is a very welcome sight in the evening

Of course we never get pole position in front of the fire because Coco always finds 'her' spot.

With sunset happening around 4pm in the afternoon, it makes it feel like we have very long evenings and I'm ready to climb back into my pjs about 8.30pm.  Please tell me I'm not the only one!

PS Daily update - We had the news yesterday that our daughter's house sale contracts exchanged so they will be moving next week.  Looks like we will need to form that 'childcare bubble' with them as I think they will need help with the children during the move!  They aren't moving far from where they are now - less than half a mile - so they don't need to change schools or childminders and we can still pop and see them when out on a dog walk!  They have a busy week ahead with packing now they know it is all definitely going ahead, no wonder they say that house moving is one of the most stressful things you can do.  Not to mention the logistics of doing it during a lockdown situation!

Coco is so pretty! :) I'm usually in my pjs by 7.30 pm - it's not as if anyone is going to be dropping by ...

Your photo of Coco by the fireplace is a Christmas card snap-lovely. Our cats assume a most un-lady like position in front of the fireplace. I agree dark by 4:30p & I want to just crawl back into bed. Dark until 7:30-8:00am & back to dark by 4:30pm - I feel like a mole.
Congrats to your daughter & family on a new house - at least settled in, in time for Santa to find their chimney.

Well wishes for the move! We had to move to another state in July. No small children, but 4 dogs and a 12 hour drive. Went better than I thought.

Oh boy - I thought our sunset was early! Four is pretty early for evening to begin..and, yes, I would totally be ready for PJs way too early!!:) But that is the beauty of this season of life!!:)

Glad all went through well for Rachel and family to move. Coco is no dummy!! She knows prime real estate in front of the fire. Such a cutie.

It is getting dark here about 5:30. And I agree, 8:30 feels like bedtime. We try to go 'up' by 9:00, read a bit and then asleep by 10:00 but lately, it has been hard to last that long.

You're not the only one who's in pjs early. Coco seems to have the right idea. That looks like the cosiest place to be on a chilly evening.
